Exciting Football is supported by a group of coaches from Spain, United States and Germany who deal with the respectful, long-term development of (elite) players. The idea was born at a trainer seminar in Barcelona and has been implemented by Frank schultheiss. Only the chairman and the partners of the Advisory Board are named below. José V. Portolés Montañés

Jose V. Portoles

Chairing partner José Portolés is a football coach with a UEFA Pro Licence, and an internationally recognised expert with experience in Asia, Europe and South America. He previously headed the academy of the Spanish first-division club Valencia CF and was responsible for organising training for the first-division team at Real Madrid as head coach. As a head coach and adviser, he has already worked, among others, for FC Lokomotiv Moscow, Tianjin Teda (first division, China), Vissel Kobe (J-League – Japan), PFC Ludogorts (Bulgaria, first division) and Millonarios de Bogotá (Colombia, first division). He has a bachelor’s degree (BSc) in Physical Education and Sports, and a master’s degree in High-Performance Sports Training.

Joan Màrmol Huguet


Joan Marmol holds a UEFA Pro Licence and was Coach at the FC Barcelona Academy. After this, he worked as a scout for the U12, U14 and U16 teams, and as the director of the official FC Barcelona football camps in Spain and Switzerland. His speaking engagements have included a talk on the training methods of FC Barcelona at the international coach seminar in Germany in 2013, and he also published a 14-page article he wrote about this in the official magazine for German Football Association (DFB), ‘Fußballtraining’.

Josep Rochés Ribas


Josep Rochés Ribas has a UEFA B coach licence and worked as a coach at the Official Football School of FC Barcelona between 2008 and 2013, participating in several Football Camps. He has gained international experience as a coach in Saudi Arabia, England and Germany, where he has participated in various Seminars for coaches, giving conferences about the Functional Structure of FC Barcelona and the Spanish training methodology. He is a lawyer specializing in Sports Law.
